MIMIC Project Phases

MIMIC uses a proven four-phase system that delivers customized results for each of our clients.

Phase One - Design
Your organization will provide copies of all relevant materials (lesson plans, references, etc.) to MIMIC. The project advisor and instructional design staff uses these materials to identify your needs and develop a plan. The team then creates the broad design and development parameters for the project. Your advisor will work with you to develop a "look-and-feel" for the instruction program. The design staff will prepare an outline and description of the instruction. The project advisor and your representatives will then review and discuss the proposed description. You will have final approval of the instructional design.

Phase Two - Development
Upon approval, MIMIC develops drafts according to the description and outline. After checking each completed draft, the project advisor will post it to a web server. You and your subject matter experts will review each draft online, provide input to fine-tune the presentation, and generally ensure that the instruction is doctrinally and procedurally correct. The project advisor will coordinate revisions until the draft meets your expectations.

Phase Three - Specifications and Standards
Unless you require otherwise, MIMIC's courseware developers will write all DL courseware in HTML and Java Script. It will meet all specifications of the Army's DL XXI contract, conform to the specifications of SCORM, and will be delivered ready for acceptance testing and submission to the Reimer Digital Library. Thus, MIMIC ensures that the DL courseware it provides meets all Army standards, can be used and maintained without proprietary software, and can be reused in other instructional settings. MIMIC warranties all DL courseware against defects for one year.

Phase Four - Fielding and Validation
MIMIC will provide the completed DL courseware for web-based or CD-ROM presentation based on your requirements. Typically, MIMIC will arrange to load the materials directly to your server. MIMIC will strive to make the actual fielding of the instruction a "turn-key" experience for your organization. At your request, MIMIC can assist with the validation of the courseware (to verify its educational sufficiency) and provide training to those who will be responsible for administering and maintaining it.
